Todas las semanas, cuando amanece, escucho en la radio, leo en el periódico o veo en la televisión una noticia que me rompe el corazón, y que no es otra que la muerte de una mujer a manos de su pareja.
Tampoco quiero obviar en estas líneas la violencia al contrario, la que le puede propiciar una mujer al hombre, pero, en estas líneas, tengo que centrar la atención en las muertes de mujeres, puesto que han sido unas semanas trágicas para nuestro país en ese sentido.
Sin ir más lejos, el otro día se planeaban en mi cabeza serias dudas de la capacidad de la justicia de este país, viendo como una de las imágenes más escalofriantes que he visto jamás, y que suponían un acto violento en toda regla, como era ver a un indeseable, no sé definirlo de otro modo, arrastraba, como si se tratara de una bolsa de basura, a su novia por el portal de la escalera en que conviven, en un piso que debe ser el infierno.
Creía que, quién viera semejantes imágenes, no tendría dudas de que alguien así tendría que cargar con todo el peso de la ley sobre sus hombros, y mi sorpresa llega cuando le cae la mínima pena por el hecho de que está grabado sin su consentimiento, lo que me parece el colmo del despropósito.
¿Cómo se puede esperar que las mujeres, que son brutalmente atacadas en su hogar, que debería ser un lugar seguro y confortable, denuncien y pongan en su lugar a estos personajes, si ven estas condenas ridículas a sus agresores?
¿Si ven cómo otra mujer que había denunciado al agresor ha muerto en sus manos?
A veces, da miedo pensar que estamos tan desprotegidos/as en la sociedad en la que vivimos, que no castiga a la persona que nos daña.
La violencia machista está destrozando muchas familias, matando a muchas mujeres, que, por otra parte, viven en el miedo, mirando siempre hacia las espaldas, esperando el peor desenlace, por el mero hecho de haberse enamorado de la persona equivocada.
No sé qué medidas se podrían tomar al respecto, pero estoy convencida que algo más podría hacerse.
El miedo es una de las sensaciones más paralizantes del mundo, y no me puedo imaginar lo que será para una persona convivir con él a cada momento.
Nos debemos poner todos manos a la obra, para evitar que una sola persona más muera a manos de su pareja.
La pareja es un campo de trabajo complicado, se trata de juntarse dos personas distintas, que se quieren, para formar una vida juntos, pero esa vida debe ser feliz, debe suponer cosas buenas, debe enriquecer a ambas partes, y no ser un campo de minas que puede explotar, con cualquier pretexto y en cualquier momento.
Un programa de televisión, « AMORES QUE DUELEN´´, emitido, a mi gusto, excesivamente tarde, con lo que se pierde su visibilidad, cuenta muy bien la historia de esas mujeres que, aferradas a la vida, superan la violencia machista que padecieron durante su relación, y cuando las escuchas, ves un patrón muy bien definido.
Deberían, desde pequeños/as, darnos una asignatura en el colegio que supusiera saber identificar a un posible maltratador, tanto psicológico como a nivel físico, porque de ahí muchas personas escaparían del horror en que se convierten sus vidas.
La primera vez que lo vi, me quedé helada de la frialdad con que estos sujetos empiezan a introducir la violencia muy despacio, de forma muy sutil, con pequeños gestos y malos modos en la convivencia, hasta minar a la persona y convertirla en un trapo, pero lo más importante es el final de cada programa, en que la que ha sido víctima durante años quiere vivir, dejar atrás este nefasto capítulo de su existencia, y pide a todas las mujeres que pasen por lo mismo, que tengan valor y sigan soñando con el día en que estos episodios sean un sueño olvidado en el pasado, que las ha hecho más fuertes y seguras.
Ojalá llegue el día en que nadie más tenga que vivir esta pesadilla y morir a manos de la persona que amó.
Si bien las palabras que lanzo aquí no llegarán a tanta gente como quisiera, ni darán suficiente aliento a las que lo necesitan, al menos, me siento bien por haber, de alguna manera, denunciado estos actos, que deberían cesar y no ser más una noticia en el transcurso del día.
¡Las manos deber servir para alzar a la persona que está en el suelo, y no para destrozar la vida de alguien!
