La Plaza España de la ciudad ducal dispone de una bandera nacional desdibujada y desgarrada por el paso del tiempo. Ya son muchos los vecinos que han solicitado su reposición sin éxito.

22. marzo. 2017.- El Grupo Municipal Popular ha vuelto a exigir de nuevo la reposición de la bandera oficial del Reino de España, en la plaza que hace honor al país, la Plaza España.
Los populares recogen así, las solicitudes de muchos vecinos de la zona, que han venido reclamando su reposición, sin éxito. Son notables también las llamadas a medios de comunicación o las entradas escritas en diferentes redes sociales, en atención a esta demanda.
La enseña española sigue izada, aunque con dificultad se interpreta que es la bandera oficial al presentar un notable deterioro, verse desdibujada y rasgada por el paso del tiempo.
Andrés Puig ha solicitado al gobierno de izquierdas: “Mimo por los símbolos que nos representan. Reemplazar la bandera española izada en la Plaza España, cada equis tiempo, no es un trámite difícil y costoso, es más una cuestión de interés y atención del concejal del barrio o el de Servicios Básicos”.
Puig ha resaltado que a este gobierno de izquierdas: “Aunque más que desinterés, lo que observamos es que a este gobierno se le atraganta la palabra España. Les duele que Gandia y sus ciudadanos se muestren orgullosos de ser españoles”.
Pero lo más curioso, es que: “Los “patriotas” de Ciudadanos callan mientras el gobierno de izquierdas tiene la bandera nacional desgarrada y deslucida en el mástil. Al final Ciudadanos está de palmero, aplaudiendo las iniciativas catalanistas”. Puig sobre esta postura de los naranjas ha finalizado con un lacónico: “Es lo que hay”.
Por último, los populares solicitan atención, deferencia y respeto por los símbolos que nos representan ya que guste más o menos, a los ediles del gobierno de izquierdas, Gandia es parte de la indisoluble Nación Española.
