La Federación Médica Venezolana se moviliza hoy para reclamar por la falta de alimentos y medicamentos. Nicolás Maduro convocó a una manifestación mañana.
El gobierno de Nicolás Maduro y la oposición venezolana vuelven a medir sus fuerzas esta semana, tras más de 51 días de violentas protestas que que ya dejaron 48 muertos, centenares de heridos y más de 2.000 detenidos. La Federación Médica Venezolana (FMV) se dirigirá hoy al Ministerio de Salud en apoyo a la oposición en Caracas mientras que el presidente convocó para mañana a una Marcha por la paz.
Las protestas de la oposición continúan en medio de un colapso económico, que genera una severa escasez de alimentos y medicamentos, y a pesar de los gases lacrimógenos y la violencia en que brota en las calles en cada manifestación.
«Apenas tenemos 3% de insumos. Es una situación caótica. Marcharemos por el hambre que hay, por la carencia de medicamentos, ese holocausto de la salud que ha impuesto el gobierno», dijo a la agencia AFP Douglas León Natera, presidente de la FMV.
El sábado más de 160.000 personas -según los organizadores- se congregaron en la principal autopista de Caracas e intentaron caminar hacia el ministerio del Interior en el centro de la capital. Fueron dispersados con gases lacrimógenos, a lo que los manifestantes respondieron con piedras y cócteles molotov.
Además, más de 40.000 personas (según cálculos de AFP) protestaron en la ciudad de San Cristóbal, en el estado de Táchira, fronterizo con Colombia, hacia donde Maduro ordenó el envío de 2.600 militares tras disturbios y saqueos la semana pasada.
Mientras que oficialistas y opositores se echan responsabilidades sobre la violencia en las manifestaciones, el sábado un joven de 21 años fue prendido fuego durante una marcha opositora en Caracas.
El dramático episodio quedó registrado en un video en el que se ve que el joven es golpeado, rociado con combustible y quemado.
El hecho es investigado, mientras que el muchacho, identificado como Orlando Figuera, permanece internado en grave estado.
