A 40 años del Mundial que se disputó en la Argentina en plena dictadura, Memoria Abierta y el colectivo de periodistas NAN lanzan una web con 78 historias que cuentan esos días. Los relatos recorren distintos ejes que van desde el fútbol en sí hasta las acciones de los organismos de derechos humanos, el exilio y el boicot al campeonato, el rol de los medios de comunicación y la represión en sus distintas facetas. Aquí, un adelanto de algunos de los textos y las imágenes.
Nacido y apropiado entre gritos de gol

La última vez que Estela de Carlotto habló con Laura fue el 16 de noviembre de 1978. La mayor de sus cuatro hijos vivía escondida, de casa en casa. Cada vez que llamaba a la escuela donde trabajaba su mamá, lo hacía fingiendo que era otra persona.
–Sabe, Estela, últimamente no me ando sintiendo muy bien.
–Ay, por favor, Silvia. Cuídese mucho –le pedía Estela a su hija, pensando que quizás estuviera enferma.
–Me parece que debería ir al ginecólogo –le dijo ella.
Hasta hoy, nadie sabe bien dónde secuestraron a Laura. Tenía 22 años, estudiaba Historia en la Universidad Nacional de La Plata y militaba en la Juventud Universitaria Peronista (JUP). No existen testimonios de su detención ni de su paso por otros centros clandestinos. Pero sí hay testimonios de sobrevivientes que la vieron en el centro clandestino de detención y tortura La Cacha, cerca de La Plata.
María Laura Bretal es una de las pocas sobrevivientes que estuvieron secuestradas allí durante 1978. Militante de izquierda, socióloga, en varios juicios contó: “Fui secuestrada el 5 de mayo junto a mi hija de tres años. Estaba embarazada de cuatro meses”.
En aquellos días, uno de los represores que la custodiaba, aunque ella estaba encapuchada y engrillada, le contó a María Laura que ese lugar se llamaba La Cacha en honor a Cachavacha, la bruja de Hijitus, una serie de dibujos animados popular en esa época. La bruja tenía una escoba mágica con un súper poder: hace desaparecer lo que barría.
En ese centro que funcionaba a 200 metros de la cárcel de Lisandro Olmos, María Laura Bretal se sorprendió: no era la única embarazada. En La Cacha también estaban Rita, de siete meses, y Rosita, de ocho. Las conoció cuando pasó una semana en una habitación con ellas.
En La Cacha los secuestrados, como en otros centros, llevaban apodos. Era uno de los modos de resistencia al número y la despersonalización que imponía el terrorismo de Estado. A María Laura los compañeros de cautiverio la apodaron “Panzona”. Rita era Laura Carlotto, pero esto María Laura lo sabría después, años después de haber salido en libertad.
“Cuando las vi por primera vez, no podía creer que ellas llevaran tanto tiempo ahí. No entraba en mi cabeza. Rita sobrellevaba la situación con mucha fortaleza –recuerda María Laura–. Yo estaba desesperada. Prefería no probar bocado. El primer mes fue muy duro. Rita me alentaba: ‘Tenés que seguir adelante, día a día, por tu hija’.”
Rosita fue la primera de ellas tres en parir. Tenía tres hijos esperándola afuera. Los guardias tardaron en trasladarla. Días después les dijeron a las chicas que Rosita había tenido un varón y había recuperado su libertad.
Una semana después, Rita empezó con las contracciones. La dejaban caminar por La Cacha. Cuando el dolor aumentó, los compañeros pidieron a los gritos a los guardias que por favor no la hicieran esperar hasta el último momento. María Laura tuvo un ataque de nervios y llanto.
“Los guardias se cagaban de risa. No tenían muchas ganas de salir. Tardaron bastante en llevarla”, cuenta. El testimonio de Bretal situó el nacimiento del hijo de Laura en el Mundial 78. Los guardias solían escuchar los partidos por la radio, a todo volumen.
Todavía no está del todo claro a qué hora ni dónde nació el hijo de Rita. Pero en ese clima mundialista –que se inauguró el 1º de junio– ella fue trasladada a algún lugar a parir. El 2 de junio de 1978 era viernes. A las 19.15, la Argentina jugó el primer partido del Mundial contra Hungría, en la cancha de River.
Pasaron 36 años hasta que los testimonios de quienes compartieron cautiverio con Rita (Bretal pero también María Inés Paleo, Alcira Ríos, Norma Aquino) se unieron con otras piezas. Porque esas personas contaron lo que Rita relató cuando regresó a La Cacha.
La habían llevado a un hospital militar, lejos, donde parió engrillada y encapuchada. Había sido un varón. Lo había tenido entre sus brazos apenas horas, hasta que le ordenaron que se lo entregara a alguien. Se resistió. Le pusieron una inyección. No recordaba qué había pasado después, pero al despertar había preguntado por el bebé. Le dijeron que se lo habían entregado a su madre. Que la señora Carlotto lo había aceptado, a condición de no verla más. Quienes la conocieron en La Cacha después de parir recuerdan que estaba angustiada.
El rompecabezas todavía tiene piezas sueltas. Pero el 5 de agosto de 2014 las principales encajaron: Ignacio, un músico de Olavarría, supo que era el hijo de Laura y Walmir “Puño” Montoya, que era el nieto de Estela de Carlotto, la presidenta de Abuelas de Plaza de Mayo.
La Justicia aún investiga cómo el hijo de una joven –asesinada en agosto de 1978, cuando el cuerpo acribillado de Laura fue entregado su familia– terminó en la casa de dos peones en el campo.
Ellos declararon ante el juzgado que su patrón, un hombre conocido y poderoso en la zona, allegado a los militares, les ofreció un bebé abandonado. A principios de junio, los peones recibieron un llamado para buscar al recién nacido en La Plata. Y allá fueron, acompañados por el patrón. Un médico de Olavarría firmó la partida de nacimiento –el tiempo reveló que era falsa– y anotó al bebé como hijo de la pareja, nacido en la casa del patrón, el 2 de junio de 1978. Ese fue el día que la Argentina venció a Hungría por 2 a 0 en el estadio de River, en el primer partido del Mundial. El día que el patrón ordenó que no se volviera a hablar del tema.
Pero 36 años después, en su propio velatorio, alguien abrió la boca: Ignacio podía ser hijo de desaparecidos. El joven se contactó con Abuelas. Se convirtió en el nieto 114: Ignacio Guido Montoya Carlotto. El mismo que semanas después, abrazado a su abuela Estela, pisó la cancha de River –es hincha fanático– con un mensaje: “No te quedes con la duda sobre tu identidad”. Porque todavía falta encontrar a unos 300 bebés, entre ellos al hijo de Rosita. (Fuente: Página 12)

The government also argues that the judge who issued the Nov. 21 order preventing her removal lacked jurisdiction because by then, Lopez Belloza was already in Texas on her way out of the country. But lawyers for the student argue that Immigration and Customs Enforcement made it all but impossible to locate her.
According to Lopez Belloza, when she refused to sign a form consenting to deportation and asked to call her parents or a lawyer, a “tall, muscular, intimidating” ICE officer “said it didn’t matter if I spoke to a lawyer because I was going to be deported anyway.” She later was allowed to call her family from Massachusetts, but that was before she knew she would be flown to Texas and then Honduras.
In a separate filing, lawyers for Lopez Belloza said the government acted “in bad faith and with furtiveness” by failing to answer phone calls to the Boston-area ICE office or update its detainee locator database and by moving her without allowing her to notify her parents or counsel. They asked a judge to schedule a hearing and allow Lopez Belloza to return to the US to testify.
