Guillermo Barber denuncia y solicita que el gobierno aclare, porque no quiso firmar un convenio de colaboración con la asociación de voluntarios APEIF el pasado 29 de julio, la cual, ya advertía de los riesgos que se podían correr en caso de incendio, como así ha ocurrido.
A pesar de que el incendio, no se podía haber evitado, con una buena gestión de prevención, se podría haber minimizado muchos daños.
Esta asociación, advirtió al gobierno que se debían establecer medidas de prevención, estudiar las deficienticas de las urbanizaciones, limpieza y mantenimiento de los terrenos que ahora han sido pasta de las llamas.
Desde el partido popular se lamenta profundamente el incendio que ha afectado a nuestras urbanizaciones y parte de nuestro patrimonio local, trasladar el máximo afecto y solidaridad a las personas afectadas, y dar la enhorabuena a los cuerpos y fuerzas de seguridad del estado, cruz roja, bomberos, voluntarios y a todos los que de alguna manera ha participado en tareas de extinción y humanitarias.

Diana Morant s’ha mostrat contundent i ha lamentat el que ha qualificat d’una roda de premsa «esperpèntica» afirmant que «El govern de Gandia lamenta que davant la pitjor catàstrofe que està vivint la ciutat, tinguem al grup majoritari de les forces polítiques de l’Ajuntament de Gandia fent política de la mala i partidista».
«És lamentable l’afirmació que el govern està de vacances. El govern és ací, tot l’equip de govern. Igual els que estan de vacances són ells i per això no ens han vist».
«Mentre tots estàvem treballant, el senyor Barber acompanyava Pablo Casado al PMA, on no hi havia ningú, per fer-se la foto. No han vingut ni a una reunió del Puesto de Comandament». «No volem medalles, crec que hem estat a l’altura del drama a què ens hem hagut d’enfrontar, cobrint les necessitats dels afectats i gràcies a això, hui no hem de lamentar la pèrdua de vides humanes».
«Lamente que no estiguen a l’altura d’una ciutat i d’uns afectats que exigeixen solucions» va finalitzar l’alcaldessa.
Per la seua banda, Lorena Milvaques ha explicat que «els regidors i regidores d’aquest govern i tots aquells que estem treballant des de fa ja gairebé cinc dies, ho fem de manera voluntària, dedicant moltes hores i cap de nosaltres vol medalles. Tots els que es vulguen sumar seran benvinguts.
