Aquest matí l’Ajuntament d’Oliva, l’alcalde, David González, i el regidor de Benestar Social, Àlex Salort, han rebut la tradicional visita que cada any realitzen els xiquets i xiquetes sahrauís que participen en la Campanya Vacances en Pau. A la recepció també han assistit les famílies acollidores d’Oliva, i d’altres municipis de la comarca, juntament amb els responsables d’ACAPS La Safor i el Delegat del Poble Sahrauí al País Valencià. L’alcalde i el regidor han mostrat la solidaritat del poble d’Oliva amb el poble Sahrauí, a més d’oferir-los una sèrie d’activitats previstes per a la jornada de hui.
Vacances en Pau 2018, és una campanya humanitària a través de la qual es pretén donar a una sèrie de xiquets i xiquetes sahrauís un estiu diferent, allunyat de les altes temperatures que presenta l’estiu al Sàhara, on a més, s’aprofita per a conéixer el territori valencià.
“És molt important per a nosaltres donar acollida a aquest tipus de programes, donat que afavoreixen tant la visibilització del conflicte existent a les regions ocupades del Sàhara, com per a que els xiquets i xiquetes gaudisquen d’uns mesos allunyats del conflicte, i perquè no dir-ho, de les altes temperatures” comenta el regidor de Benestar Social, Àlex Salort.
