España e Israel acaban jugando en el CAR de Sant Cugat tras presiones para no hacerlo en Molins de Rei y Barcelona. Que culpa tiene las chicas del waterpolo?
Decir solo que la selección española femenina de waterpolo derrotó este martes a la de Israel por 11-5 en el segundo partido de la fase de grupos de la Liga Mundial sería quedarse muy corto en el caso que nos ocupa.
«Ha sido el partido más raro en el que he estado», aseguró el seleccionador, Miki Oca. «Se ha creado un precedente muy peligroso», aseveró Enric Bertran, presidente de la Federació Catalana de Natació y vicepresidente de la española. «Estamos indignados porque esta es una decisión contra los judíos, no contra el estado de Israel», afirmaban Isaac Levi y Giaco Ventura, dos de los portavoces judíos de la escasa asistencia, unas 25 personas, que se personó en la flamante piscina de entrenamiento del Centre d’Alt Rendiment (CAR) de Sant Cugat. Porque allí, en un ambiente casi fantasmagórico, clandestino, se acabó disputando el ya bautizado como partido del boicot.
Acuerdo de última hora
Un partido que, en cuestión de pocos días, circuló por Molins de Rei (la sede inicialmente designada), la Piscina Sant Jordi de Barcelona y, finalmente, Sant Cugat del Vallès, aunque durante todo el día corrió serio peligro de acabar suspendido. En el conflicto tuvo que intervenir la FINA (Federación Internacional de Natación) y se alcanzó un acuerdo de última hora con las autoridades israelís, que inicialmente eran partidarias de cancelar el encuentro. La protesta israelí había causado un problema de carácter diplomático entre los Gobiernos de Madrid y Tel-Aviv.
La ministra de Cultura y Deporte israelí, Miri Reguev, había solicitado a su homólogo español, José Guirao, que intercediera en el partido y reclamado que el encuentro se disputase en Molins de Rei. Israel no era partidario de jugar a puerta cerrada. Las jugadoras de este país se encontraban desde el pasado fin de semana concentradas en el CAR, al igual que las internacionales españolas. Finalmente, el partido se acabó jugando a las seis de la tarde, tras un primer intento de hacerlo al mediodía.
«Solidaridad con Palestina»
La oposición al encuentro detonó el lunes de la semana pasada, cuando la CUP de Molins de Rei, apoyándose en una moción del 2013, contraria a Israel por unos ataques a Cisjordania, reclamó el boicot y se mostró adversa a la celebración de este partido. El Gobierno municipal dio carta blanca a la petición de la CUP, apoyada también por el movimiento BDS (Boicot, Desinversión y Sanciones). El argumento, «mostrar solidaridad con Palestina» al oponerse a la celebración de «un acontecimiento entre las selecciones deportivas de dos Estados que vulneran gravemente los derechos humanos más elementales». «Los movimientos BDS son claramente antisemitas en su naturaleza y operan para dañar al Estado de Israel y a sus ciudadanos», había protestado en un escrito la ministra Reguev a Guirao.
Tras renunciar el Club Natació Molins de Rei a organizar el encuentro, por razones de seguridad ante la situación creada, tampoco se pudo jugar en Barcelona por la presión de la CUP, que denunciaba la «complicidad con el Estado racista y genocida de Israel», a pesar de que el consistorio no se posicionó oficialmente sobre la cuestión.
«Con Colau, nada de esto nos viene de nuevo. Todo esto que ha pasado degrada a Barcelona y a España», aseguró Isaac Levi desde la pequeña balconada del CAR que ejercía de grada. Mientras, los directivos abogaban por desligar deporte y política, como sucedió una semana antes en el Barça-Maccabi de baloncesto.
