Serrat recordó que «Mediterráneo es un disco compuesto en 1971 con 10 canciones, todas en castellano», y que su espectáculo las canta una a una, «en orden», prosiguió.
«Sé perfectamente que estoy en Barcelona, seguramente lo sepa antes que usted”, dijo con determinación. “Y desde antes que usted, estoy trabajando por hacer cosas en esta ciudad, así que le pido que me deje hacer mi espectáculo”. Serrat concluyó diciendo que era la primera vez «después de girar por todo el mundo» que le hacían este tipo de recriminación. Luego de un aplauso estremecedor, el catalán prosiguió cantando.
