Gandia, 11 de juliol de 2018.- L’Alcaldessa de Gandia, Diana Morant, acompanyada de la regidora d’Esports, Lydia Morant, ha rebut hui un grup d’halters de l’Atlètic Club Halterofília de Gandia, i al seu entrenador,l José Ibáñez, per tal de reconèixer-los el seu esforç, la seua trajectòria i aplaudir els seus èxits, però també desitjar-los sort per a les pròximes proves.

I és que a finals de juny, alguns dels seus membres van participar en el Campionat d’Espanya sub-15, on van quedar en molt bones posicions:
– Romina Escrivá va quedar tercera i segona en diferents modalitats.
– Carlos Pellicer va obtindre tres medalles de bronze.
A més, el pròxim 21 de juliol, altres membres del club participaran en el Campionat d’Espanya categoria absoluta, que es desenvoluparà a A Corunya.
Hi anirà una àmplia expedició del club: 4 xiques i 2 xics: Iolanda Aparici, Celia García, Melanie Carrasco, Maria Bernal, Yves Ibáñez i Rubén Artés. Des del club, hi ha moltes esperances per assolir alguna medalla, ja que això suposaria un èxit sense precedents, en haver participat i aconseguit premi en tots els campionats d’Espanya, tant per equips com individuals.
“Per a la ciutat, tots i totes ja són guanyadors i guanyadores. Cal valorar-los la disciplina, les hores d’entrenament, dedicació i l’afany de superació. Sobretot de Iolanda, que ha superat una malaltia i es va posar com a repte poder participar en el Campionat d’Espanya. Sou un exemple per a molts joves de la nostra ciutat”, ha manifestat l’alcaldessa.
Atlètic Club Halterofília de Gandia
És el club degà en actiu de l’halterofília a Espanya. Es va fundar l’any 1957 i, de forma ininterrompuda, ha participat cada any en tots els campionats. Mai han faltat a una cita nacional i han estat campions d’Espanya de la Copa del Rei de l’any 1992. Este és el màxim títol al qual pot optar un equip d’halterofília.
A més, l’halterofília femenina està en auge i en el seu millor moment, encara que competeix oficialment des de l’any 1986.
Tal vegada este no siga el millor any quant a resultats, però si que ho és quant a nombre de participants. El club està creixent i tenen molts xiquets i xiquetes.
Compten amb molt bones instal•lacions, però ara s’està quedant menut. A causa de la nova normativa a escala federativa no poden acollir campionats nacionals, perquè només tenen 4 tarimes d’escalfament (quan se n’exigeixen 8) i una tarima de competició (quan se n’exigeixen 2). És per aquesta raó, que van a presentar un projecte per a l’ampliació.
