El uso de cócteles de drogas durante las relaciones sexuales, lo que se conoce ‘chemsex’, es cada vez más habitual en determinados colectivos y conlleva un doble riesgo para la salud ya que eleva el riesgo de enfermedades de transmisión sexual, como el VIH o la hepatitis, al tiempo que también puede derivar en un problema de adicción a esa práctica o a las sustancias empleadas.
Así lo han reconocido diferentes expertos durante un seminario organizado por dos cátedras de la farmacéutica MSD con la Universidad Internacional Menéndez Pelayo (UIMP) y la Universidad Rey Juan Carlos (URJC).
En ese sentido, hay diferentes estudios que relacionan el ‘chemsex’ con conductas sexuales de riesgo, especialmente entre hombres que tienen sexo con hombres, como consecuencia de su efecto estimulante y desinhibidor, favoreciendo relaciones sexuales «más extensas y desprotegidas» que favorecen un mayor riesgo de contagio por sífilis, gonorrea, hepatititis A o C.
«Lo que ahora se inicia como un problema emergente se puede convertir en un auténtico problema de salud si no se actúa de modo eficiente», ha destacado el jefe del Servicio de Enfermedades Infecciosas del Hospital Ramón y Cajal de Madrid, Santiago Moreno.
Este experto ha recordado que lo que hace que los virus se transmitan no es el uso de drogas sino las consecuencias de su consumo, ya que da lugar a una «mayor frecuencia de relaciones y parejas sexuales, no utilización de preservativos u otros métodos de barrera, compartir agujas y jeringuillas».
Por todo ello, el especialista insiste en la importancia de las medidas de prevención, que «pueden evitar el riesgo de transmisión de los patógenos por vía sexual o sanguínea».
Las drogas más empleadas para estas prácticas son la mefedrona, metanfetamina y el GHB, y en el caso de los pacientes con VIH pueden plantear «interacciones» con el tratamiento antirretroviral y «pueden llegar a suponer un condicionante para la salud que debe ser tenido en cuenta», han añadido Ignacio Pérez Valero y José Luis Blanco, autores del libro ’99 preguntas clave sobre ChemSex’.
Por su parte, el director de la ONG Apoyo Positivo, Jorge Garrido, que atiende a pacientes VIH, llama la atención sobre la relación entre esta práctica y salud mental.
«En muchas situaciones lo que detectamos no es ni siquiera un problema grave de adicción a las drogas. La problemática mayor, que puede derivar en un problema con la gestión del sexo y las drogas, es la propia adicción a ese tipo de sexo, por carencias emocionales y de salud mental graves», según este experto.
