Gandia, 11 febrero 2019- La secretaria general de Cáritas Española, Natalia Peiró, imparte una conferencia en Gandia sobre “La mujer, doble víctima de la violencia”.
Las mujeres sufren más que los hombres la inseguridad alimentaria, inclusive en los países industrializados. También ganan menos que los hombres, dedican más tiempo a los cuidados domésticos sin recibir remuneración alguna, son más vulnerables a la pobreza extrema y tienen menos posibilidades de acceder al mercado laboral. Lo dice el último informe de la ONU. Aunque desde el Gobierno Central aseguran que la crisis ha terminado y, con ella, la recesión, Cáritas Española, asegura, en base al Informe FOESSA (Fomento de Estudios Sociales y de Sociología Aplicada) 2017, que ni la pobreza ni la exclusión social se está reduciendo: la mitad de las familias (50,1%) carecen hoy en día de “una red de seguridad”, un dato peor que antes de la crisis. Seis de cada diez ciudadanos no tienen capacidad de ahorro, ni podría resistir a una nueva crisis, o hacer frente a una reforma en su casa. Seis de cada diez hogares siguen sin poder llegar a fin de mes. Sólo un 20% podría aguantar tres meses en paro.
Según este mismo informe de Foessa, en 4 años los casos de depresión intensa han aumentado un 2,34% (entre 2006-2010) y desde los primeros síntomas de la crisis, la depresión ha sido el trastorno mental que más aumentó, sólo por detrás del abuso de alcohol. Este mismo estudio también señalaba que los colectivos que más la sufrían eran fundamentalmente mujeres, empleados a tiempo parcial, o mayores de 55 años.
Con este argumento, la conferencia “La mujer, doble víctima de la pobreza” tiene como objetivo visibilizar el papel de la mujer en el seno de la familia en riesgo de exclusión o vulnerabilidad, como figura que es sustentadora de la unidad familiar al tiempo que es la que menos oportunidades tiene para, como dice el informe de la ONU, acceder al mercado laboral o salir de la pobreza.
