Gandia, 15 de febrer de 2017.- La regidora d’Esports, Lydia Morant, acompanyada de la nadadora, Selina Moreno, i la presidenta de l’AECC Gandia, Maribel Codina, ha presentat aquest matí davant els mitjans de comunicació la cinquena edició de “12 hores nadant contra el càncer”, la popular prova esportiva que tindrà lloc el pròxim diumenge 19 de febrer, des de les 8 fins les 20 hores, a la piscina del Grau. S’emmarca dins els programes d’hàbits saludables de l’AECC amb la finalitat de difondre l’esport com a eina preventiva. I coincideix amb el Dia Internacional del càncer infantil, hui dimecres 15 de febrer.
Morant ha reiterat l’admiració i suport de l’Ajuntament “tant a Selina Moreno, com als membres de l’AECC de Gandia per la tasca que realitzen diàriament per millorar la qualitat de vida dels malalts, per recaptar fons per a la investigació i, en general, per millorar la nostra societat”.
Per la seua banda, Moreno ha explicat que s’hi pot participar des de diverses modalitats: equips de relleus, natació individual de 3 o 6 hores o al Carrer 0. De moment, hi participaran més de 60 nadadors de diferents punts de l’estat: Toledo, Madrid, Múrcia, etc… O del nostre territori: València, Alacant, Elx…
Pel que fa a les incripcions, continuen sent les mateixes des de fa 5 anys, i aniran destinades als programes d’investigació de l’AECC. “Enguany, a més, tenim una doble finalitat solidària, ja que volem col•laborar amb el Preventori Infantil. Per això, els nadadors/es hauran d’aportar dues coses de material escolar o bé dos productes d’higiene íntima per als xiquets i les xiquets”. La gent que no hi participa i desitja col•labora-hi també s’hi pot apropar i portar els productes.
Selina Moreno ha agraït la col•laboració desinteressada de l’Ajuntament i de diferents empreses o institucions: el Club Natació d’Alacant RC7, que ha recaptat fons per comprar aliments no peribles; L’institut de Babel d’Alacant (professorat i alumnat ha recollit material escolar); Els treballadors del Departament Gestió Econòmica de Fé; L’empresa Sumypel, per donar productes d’higiene íntima; L’empresa i treballadors de Vegabaja Packaging, SL.
L’AECC Gandia aportarà el voluntariat per fer possible l’organització de la prova i la recollida de productes solidaris.
