.- L’Ajuntament de Gandia presentarà la seua candidatura al nomenament de Capital Cultural Valenciana durant el pròxim any, a partir de la convocatòria que ha realitzat, per primera vegada, la Conselleria de Cultura de la Generalitat Valenciana, en la qual es tracta de premiar el reconeixement d’un municipi que es distingisca per apostar de manera decidida per la cultura. Ahir mateix, al Plenari Municipal, es va donar compte d’una declaració institucional signada per tots els grups polítics amb representació institucional donant suport al projecte de Gandia per a ser la Capital Cultural Valenciana de 2018.
La concessió d’aquest títol de capital cultural es realitzarà a partir del projecte que presente cadascuna de les ciutats candidates, en el qual es valoraran tant criteris innovadors en matèria cultural, com d’impacte econòmic i d’incidència de la proposta, tant a nivell local com comarcal. La comissió encarregada de triar la ciutat que ostentarà aquest títol durant el 2018, està formada per persones vinculades a la Conselleria de Cultura, així com per representants de les universitats valencianes i d’altres institucions culturals.
El projecte que presenta Gandia ha estat elaborat per l’equip tècnic del Departament de Cultura, i en ell es fa especial incidència en el potencial cultural de la ciutat com a bressol dels clàssics de la literatura valenciana i de la família Borja, amb exposicions, congressos i cicles de conferències. Així mateix, la proposta incorpora un apartat d’accions vinculades a la difusió del patrimoni cultural local, com el Tio de la Porra, la Visitatio Sepulchri o Les Falles, juntament amb una sèrie d’iniciatives relacionades amb els nous llenguatges creatius en matèria cultural.
En total, el projecte presenta 50 activitats diferents, algunes de les quals ja formen part de la programació habitual del Departament de Cultura, encara que la gran majoria han estat pensades i dissenyades específicament per dotar de singularitat a la candidatura.
Extraoficialment, se sap que localitats com Llíria, Sagunt o Xàtiva, també han elaborat els seus programes per a optar a la capitalitat cultural, finalitzant avui mateix el termini de presentació de propostes.
