El FMI avisa de que el 20% más rico de España gana siete veces más que el 20% más pobre

El organismo señala que España es el tercer país de Europa donde los ricos acaparan mayor proporción de la renta

 

El Fondo Monetario Internacional alerta de que España es uno de los países en los que existe mayor diferencia de rentas de Europa. Según los datos que maneja el organismo presidido por Christine Lagarde, el 20% con más renta gana siete veces y media más que el 20% más pobre. Hasta el punto de que España es el tercer país de la Unión Europea donde los ricos acaparan una porción más grande de los ingresos. “Como resultado de la crisis, los indicadores sociales se han deteriorado con fuerza en España”, señala el informe anual que elabora el Fondo sobre la economía española.

En junio de 2015, el FMI se sumó a la OCDE para denunciar el problema de la desigualdad. Desde entonces, la institución sita en Washington ha argumentado que el desequilibrio entre ricos y pobres supone un freno al crecimiento. En su última valoración anual sobre la economía española publicada este lunes, el Fondo dedica un cuadro a analizar las consecuencias de la crisis sobre las diferencias de recursos en España. “La disparidad de ingresos y el riesgo de pobreza o exclusión social ha aumentado notablemente con la crisis financiera global debido a la caída del empleo, que afectó desproporcionadamente a los jóvenes, los poco formados y los trabajadores temporales”, reza el documento del FMI.

Aunque el rápido proceso de creación de empleo ha ayudado a disminuir los riesgos de pobreza y exclusión social, “los beneficios de la recuperación están siendo desiguales entre las distintas generaciones y los diferentes niveles de educación”, asegura. En opinión de los hombres de negro, la evolución del empleo entre los jóvenes y los poco formados se está quedando rezagada respecto a las demás. “Las políticas para mejorar su empleabilidad deberían ser una prioridad”, afirman. Es decir, este aumento de la desigualdad se corresponde más con la mala situación de los de abajo y no tanto con un aumento de las rentas de los grupos con más ingresos.

El Fondo observa que como resultado de la crisis el número de gente en España en riesgo de pobreza o exclusión social se disparó más de un 23% entre 2007 y 2015. “Los trabajadores sin formación, jóvenes e inmigrantes han sido particularmente vulnerables. Al mismo tiempo, la desigualdad de ingreso también se deterioró bruscamente, con el coeficiente de Gini subiendo en 2,75 puntos durante este periodo”, indica. El coeficiente de Gini es un indicador de desigualdad en el que cero es la ausencia de desigualdad y uno la máxima desigualdad.

El FMI precisa que esta situación obedece, en parte, a una corrección en la inflación de salarios registrada en sectores que eran poco productivos como la construcción. Y, en parte, a que estos datos reflejan la dualidad existente entre fijos y temporales en el mercado laboral.
