Durant 2016, els serveis socials de Bellreguard han atés 1.325 consultes per tal d’obtindre informació sobre tramitació de serveis i recursos familiars, discapacitacions, persones majors, ajudes i prestacions de la dependència o d’altres administracions i, fins tot, sobre l’accés al sistema judicial, escolar, d’habitatge o sanitat. A més, 357 de les assistències tenien relació amb assumpes més específics com ara problemes de convivència, d’integració o l’atenció a les necessitats bàsiques. «Amb la divulgació de la tipologia dels serveis socials i les seues dades mes significatives volem conscienciar la població sobre la importància de la política social, un dels pilars sobre els quals fonamenta la seua gestió l’equip de govern que formem socialistes i Compromís» explica la regidora de polítiques inclusives i benestar social, Dora Salavert.
El mes de febrer és el mes dedicat a l’àrea de benestar social dins de la programació d’activitats que el Pla Estratègic d’Igualtat, Inclusió i Cohesió Social de Bellreguard (ICSBe) preveu per a 2017. Les dades, que formen part de la memòria anual del servei en 2016, «són molt aclaridores sobre l’impacte dels serveis socials i el tipus d’assistències rebudes» valora Salavert.
L’atenció prestada abasta una diversa problemàtica social, com ara les dificultats per atendre a menors, persones majors o discapacitades, com també les derivades per l’incompliment d’obligacions familiars i els seus conflictes. També l’absentisme, els ingresos en centres especialitzats, les activitats d’oci i temps lliure per a la integració, així com les dificultats relacionades amb la impossibilitat de tindre cobertes les necessitats més elementals, són part dels problemes que els serveis socials han tractat d’ajudar a resoldre a les persones i famílies més vulnerables.
A més a més, a Bellreguard operen dues associacions religioses que en coordinació amb els serveis socials, contribueixen a cobrir les necessitats de 50 famílies, segons dades del 2016. Cal recordar també que la treballadora social que aten els serveis socials a Bellreguard, depén de la Mancomunitat de Municipis de la Safor, qui presta el servei a tots els pobles adherits.
