La Biblioteca Central continua amb el nou cicle de conferències: Un passeig per la “Història de Gandia”.
La cinquena sessió, “L’expulsió dels moriscos (1609) : conseqüències d’un genocidi”, tindrà lloc el divendres 17 de febrer a les 19:30 h. a la Sala d’Actes de la Biblioteca Central.
La Biblioteca Central de Gandia anuncia la cinquena sessió del nou cicle de conferències: Un passeig per la “Història de Gandia”, dividit en 8 temes diferents, tractats de manera cronològica, que es realitza amb una periodicitat mensual, un divendres al mes, i que compta amb la col•laboració d’experts en cadascuna de les matèries escollides.
En esta ocasió el tema serà “L’expulsió dels moriscos (1609) : conseqüències d’un genocidi” impartit per Santiago La Parra.
En ella, La Parra ens parlarà de com en 1609 València perdia la tercera part de la seua població en unes setmanes i l’Horta de Gandia, en concret, més de la meitat dels seus habitants. Aquell veritable genocidi va tindre també greus conseqüències que alguns historiadors pretenen minimitzar. Però el que més ens crida l’atenció desfavorablement és que una tragèdia de tals dimensions romanga encara, quatre-cents anys després en un racó ombrívol de la nostra memòria col•lectiva
