Paco Sanz decía padecer el síndrome de Cowden y recaudó miles de euros – Sus padres, también arrestados
La Policía Nacional ha detenido esta mañana a Paco Sanz, el valenciano que pedía ayuda para someterse a tratamientos médicos por padecer hasta 2.000 tumores en su organismo.
Los agentes han acudido a su domicilio, en la calle Ángel Guimerà de la Pobla de Vallbona, para proceder a su arresto por los presuntos delitos de estafa, apropiación indebida y blanqueo de capitales, según fuentes policiales. También han sido detenidos sus padres por los mismo delitos.
Sanz, de 46 años, ha sido conducido a dependencias policiales y horas después ha sido trasladado de nuevo a su vivienda para proceder a un registro. Las investigaciones se iniciaron en la Comisaría de Puente de Vallecas, según las mismas fuentes.
Tras el registro en la vivienda del supuesto estafador, los investigadores se han dirigido al chalé de sus padres en la urbanización Las Cimas de la Pobla de Vallbona.
Supuestamente, Sanz dijo padecer el síndrome de Cowden desde 2008. Explicó que empezó a perder pelo detrás de la cabeza a una velocidad vertiginosa y que, tras quedarse sin cejas, acudió al hospital General donde le advirtieron que aquello era mucho más serio que una simple alopecia y que podría tratarse de cáncer. Al mismo tiempo, aseguró que la cara se le llenó de un montón de bultitos y vesículas internas por sus tumores.
A partir de ahí, comenzó una cruzada para recoger fondos en la que recaudó miles de euros que, de confirmarse la estafa, sería una nueva versión del caso Nadia.

En las redes sociales, Paco Sanz solicitaba ayuda para recibir tratamiento porque aseguraba llevar años sufriendo el síndrome de Cowden. «Esta enfermedad me ha generado cerca de dos mil tumores. Sin embargo, intento hacer mi día a día lo más normal posible. He agotado mis recursos y los de mi familia para pagar el tratamiento. Las autoridades me ignoran», proclama en su cuenta de Facebook.
Asimismo, aseguraba estar haciendo «todo lo posible por salvar mi vida y la única opción experimental está en EEUU. Gracias a personas como tú, voy a poder seguir con el tratamiento, quizá curarme o incluso puede que se encuentre una cura que pueda ayudar a otros», añade.
