El Valencia CF Femenino se afianza como tercero en la Iberdrola Primera División Femenina RFEF, con 49 puntos, tras remontar al Athletic Club, actual campeón de Liga, gracias a dos goles de Mari Paz en los últimos 10 minutos.
Es la primera vez que las blanquinegras vencen en Lezama. Las de Cristian Toro suman 11 jornadas seguidas invictas y cinco victorias consecutivas en la Liga Iberdrola; y junto con el FC Barcelona solo han encajado ocho goles en 22 partidos.
Alcanzados los primeros 15 minutos, el partido se desarrollaba sin ninguno de los dos equipos siendo dueño del mismo. El equilibrio, patente, casi fue alterado en el minuto 26, cuando Erika estuvo a punto de adelantar a las locales tras una falta botada por Nekane, pero Endler despejó a córner con un paradón. Esta acción espoleó a las nuestras, que en el minuto 34 pudieron marcar merced a N. Gaitán, cuyo remate cruzado pasó muy cerca de la base del poste derecho de Ainhoa. Sin mayores incidencias, la primera mitad, intensa e igualada, llegaba a su fin con el marcador inicial.
Athletic Club y Valencia CF Femenino saltaban de nuevo al verde en busca de los tres puntos, siendo el respeto recíproco. Mari Paz lo intentó en el minuto 50 con un disparo desde la izquierda, que se marchó por encima del larguero. Y uno después, Lucía y Nekane cerca estuvieron de chutar con cierta ventaja desde fuera del área grande. El choque no daba tregua.
Las bilbaínas dieron un susto en el minuto 62, cuando un tiro de Damaris pasó cerca del poste izquierdo de las valencianistas. Fue en el 67 cuando las de Lezama lograron el 1-0, con un remate de cabeza de Garazi en un saque de falta lanzado por Erika.
Las de Cristian Toro buscaron el empate. Mari Paz estuvo muy cerca en el minuto 73. Las nuestras, con el esférico, enlazaban para llegar a territorio vasco. Ellas esperaban para salir a la contra. Ainhoa despejó en el minuto 81 un lanzamiento de falta de Banini. Las capitaneadas por Ivana Andrés creían en el empate y este llegó en el 84 gracias a Mari Paz, al aprovechar un centro de Aedo. El gol 20 de la ‘10’ blanquinegra en la Liga Iberdrola no fue su único tanto en el partido. Mari Paz volvió a conseguirlo tres minutos después: 1-2 para el Valencia CF Femenino y terceras con 49 puntos.
