El Valencia CF Femenino afronta los cuartos de final de la Copa de SM la Reina midiéndose al Athletic Club este próximo sábado, 3 de junio de 2017, a las 12.30 horas en el estadio Matapiñoneras, en San Sebastián de los Reyes (Madrid). El enfrentamiento ante las leonas será retransmitido en directo por beIN SPORTS.

 

 

Como ya sucediera en 2015, el sorteo ha emparejado a Athletic Club y Valencia CF Femenino en cuartos de Copa, una eliminatoria de alto voltaje que no trae precisamente malos recuerdos para las nuestras. En dicha ocasión, las valencianistas apearon a las vascas del sueño copero merced a los tantos de Gio Carreras y Mari Paz Vilas (2-1) y, tras superar el FC Barcelona en semifinales (1-0; Carol), alcanzaron la primera final de su historia desde su creación en 2009. De igual forma, esta temporada en Liga no ha ido mal para las de Cristian Toro, que se han impuesto en los dos enfrentamientos a las de Joseba Aguirre: 3-1 en la Ciudad Deportiva Valencia CF, con goles de Ainhoa Vicente en propia puerta, Zornoza y Carol; y 1-2 en Lezama, con doblete de Mari Paz.

 

 

Ahora, las blanquinegras, tras su excelente actuación en la Iberdrola Primera División Femenina RFEF, en la que han quedado terceras con 68 puntos, dos puestos por encima del Athletic Club, quinto con 53, están concentrando todos sus esfuerzos en realizar un buen papel en esta competición, fijando la mirada solamente en el choque ante las bilbaínas. “Nosotros estamos centrados en nosotros mismos, en hacer un buen partido y en pensar solamente en el Athletic Club, no más allá. Hay que tomar la eliminatoria como una final. Tenemos la posibilidad de jugar un solo partido, que es ante el Athletic Club, y con la posibilidad de jugar dos o tres más. Por eso, debemos jugarlo con el respeto al rival sabiendo que será un partido muy duro, pero con confianza”, ha señalado Cristian Toro durante la semana.

 

 

Por su parte, la capitana valencianista, Ivana, en palabras a VCFradio ha destacado: “Tenemos ganas de culminar nuestra mejor temporada, nos queda la guinda del pastel. El Athletic es un buen rival que seguro nos lo pondrá difícil, pero al que haremos frente con todas nuestras ganas, ilusión y juego”. Asimismo, la central ha querido remarcar que la Copa es diferente, “es un partido único y seguro que se decidirá por detalles, posiblemente el que mejor entre en el partido se llevará la victoria”.
