Valencia: dos radares fijos para el control de velocidad

La concejala Annaïs Menguzzato asegura que la intención no es la de de «cazar» sino «anunciar que el radar está ahí» para que reduzcan la velocidad en beneficio de la seguridad vial

El Ayuntamiento de Valencia, a través de la concejalía de Protección Ciudadana, incorporará dos nuevos radares fijos, pero no con la intención de «cazar» sino de «anunciar que el radar está ahí» para que reduzcan la velocidad en beneficio de la seguridad vial, ha indicado la concejala Annaïs Menguzzato.

 

 

Los controles estarán disponibles a finales de año y se ubicarán en vías muy frecuentadas que debido a sus características inducen a circular a una velocidad superior a la permitida, como la ronda norte o la vía de Antonio Machado.

 

 

Así lo ha expresado la edil en un acto en el que ha hecho balance de los seis meses de la campaña «Cinco sentidos, cero accidentes», que se inició el 15 de diciembre de 2016 con el objetivo de «disminuir el numero de accidentes y ser conocedores de la realidad de nuestra ciudad».

 

 

Desde entonces, se han realizado 6.474 pruebas de alcoholemia, de las cuales 551 dieron positivo; se ha comprobado la velocidad de un total de 821.812 vehículos, de los que 14.254 fueron denunciados por exceso de velocidad y seis de ellos rebasaban en más de 60 km/h el límite establecido.

 

 

Sobre las infracciones por circular por el carril bus, Menguzzato ha indicado que fueron denunciados por estacionar 10.414 vehículos, 265 por parar y 330 por circular, mientras que por el uso del teléfono móvil durante la conducción se impusieron 1.511 denuncias, de ellas 167 a profesionales.

 

 

En relación al mismo periodo del año anterior, en esta campaña se han registrado tres víctimas mortales menos (ocho en la campaña anterior y cinco en la actual), once heridos graves menos (40 en la anterior y 29 en la actual), 145 heridos leves menos (1.438 frente a 1.313) y un incremento de 72 accidentes sin víctimas (2347 en la anterior campaña y 2419 en la actual).

 

 

Sobre la intensidad media diaria de paso de vehículos, en la Pista de Ademuz se ha registrado un paso de 82.996 vehículos (en 2016 fueron 79.729), 81.317 en la Pista de Silla (80.587 en la campaña anterior).

 

 

Menguzzato ha expresado que, aunque «aumenta el paso de vehículos, los accidentes decrecen» y ha añadido que «la subida de incidentes sin víctimas está relacionada con este incremento de automóviles».

 

 

La concejala ha explicado que la campaña adquiere ahora un carácter permanente «hasta que consigamos las cifras deseadas», porque esta administración mantiene «una lucha contra el exceso de velocidad», cuyo objetivo es hacer «todo lo que se pueda» para disminuir el número de accidentes y seguir con esta «tendencia a la baja, aunque sea leve».

 

 

En relación a las multas por estacionar en el carril bus durante la noche, Menguzzato ha explicado que son cifras «ridículas», ya que el fin de semana del 22 al 25 de junio se registraron siete multas y ninguna en el centro de la ciudad.
