– Els membres del Consell feliciten al poble de Potries per la preservació del seu patrimoni cultural

El Consell Valencià de Cultura amb el seu president, el professor Santiago Grisolia, al cap, s’ha reunit en Plenari aquest matí a Potries, en concret a la casa que va ser un dels símbols de la unió dels territoris Borja i Centelles a la comarca de la Safor, i que actualment alberga la Casa Ajuntament.
El CVC ha aprovat, entre d’altres, una declaració específica al voltant del patrimoni de Potries i del treball que durant anys l’Ajuntament i el poble en general han realitzat per a la preservació de la seua tradició alfarera i del llegat històric que suposa el patrimoni hidràulic.
En especial, els membres del Consell han volgut destacar la importància cultural del conjunt del patrimoni hidràulic en totes les seues dimensions: rutes guiades, arquitectura i elements, formes tradicionals de reg, així com el treball tradicional en les nostres hortes: “destaquem l’oportunitat del nomenament de Potries com a capital cultural, per a impulsar de manera global el projecte del Museu Etnològic i la Ruta de l’Aigua, i la conservació de tots els elements i béns hidràulics, que dotaria el municipi d’un conjunt cultural de gran interés, extensiu a la resta de la comarca (…/…). El projecte de Potries no és una peça aïllada, “sinó que hauria de formar part d’un projecte més gran”, en què resulta imprescindible la presència i el compromís de la Conselleria de Cultura per a consolidar definitivament uns projectes que es van iniciar fa una dècada.”
En aquest sentit l’alcaldessa de Potries, Assumpta Domínguez expressava: “Apostem per la cultura per a afrontar els reptes de futur, i ho fem convençuts que esta és l’estratègia per a generar riquesa i augmentar la qualitat de vida dels residents i dels nouvinguts, i evitar així el despoblament del municipi”; paraules que han comptat amb el suport del mateix CVC.
El plenari ha comptat amb moments emotius, com per exemple quan els xiquets i les xiquetes de l’escola del CRA Mondúver-Safor, han lliurat al president un llibret on han treballat i expressat allò que per a ells és la cultura, relacionat amb els elements patrimonials del poble.
La visita ha culminat al Museu Cassoleria d’Àngel Domínguez, on els membres del Consell han volgut destacar l’esforç realitzat pel poble per dur a terme aquest projecte, que ja va recomanar enllestir-lo el mateix CVC en l’informe del plenari del 28 de gener de 2008. The government also argues that the judge who issued the Nov. 21 order preventing her removal lacked jurisdiction because by then, Lopez Belloza was already in Texas on her way out of the country. But lawyers for the student argue that Immigration and Customs Enforcement made it all but impossible to locate her.
According to Lopez Belloza, when she refused to sign a form consenting to deportation and asked to call her parents or a lawyer, a “tall, muscular, intimidating” ICE officer “said it didn’t matter if I spoke to a lawyer because I was going to be deported anyway.” She later was allowed to call her family from Massachusetts, but that was before she knew she would be flown to Texas and then Honduras.
In a separate filing, lawyers for Lopez Belloza said the government acted “in bad faith and with furtiveness” by failing to answer phone calls to the Boston-area ICE office or update its detainee locator database and by moving her without allowing her to notify her parents or counsel. They asked a judge to schedule a hearing and allow Lopez Belloza to return to the US to testify.
