Lydia Morant, concejala de deportes, no se olvida de nadar y de ganar…

Lydia Morant Varó ha vuelto a la competición a lo grande. La que fuera nadadora olímpica española en Pekín-2008 y Londres-2012 y actual concejala de Deportes de Gandia, se ha proclamado triple campeona autonómica universitaria esta semana en la piscina de Benimàmet en València.

 

La actual concejala, que ha representado a la Universitat de València en dicho campeonato, ha subido a lo más
alto del podio en las pruebas individuales de 100 espalda y 100 libres, así como en la de relevos mixtos 4 x 100 libres, demostrando aquello de que «donde hay, siempre queda».

La mejor deportista de Gandia en varias ocasiones,  llevaba desde el año 2014 sin competir, si bien
ayer explicó a los colegas  de  Levante-EMV que «el pasado mes de diciembre disputé la Copa de España de Clubes en representación del CN Delfín de València, consiguiendo el ascenso de segunda a primera división nacional con este equipo».

En esta ocasión, añade, «he competido por la Universitat de València, donde estoy cursando un máster de gestión deportiva. Las sensaciones han sido buenas y lo he pasado muy bien con mis compañeros».

Morant va a continuar entrenando y compitiendo, aunque sin la lógica exigencia de cuando era una deportista de élite. De hecho, está clasificada para el campeonato de España universitario que tendrá lugar en Castellón el próximo mes de abril.

Feliz por haberse reencontrado con el podio, la máxima responsable municipal del deporte gandiense asegura que siente las muestras de admiración que le profesan sus jóvenes compañeros / as de la Universitat, pero matiza, «yo intento ser una más, aunque no se puede obviar que tengo más experiencia y a veces me toca dar algún que otro consejo y cuento anécdotas de mi carrera deportiva».
