Por qué la buena música mejora tu rendimiento sexual

Ciertas canciones consiguen que la caricia simultánea tenga una potencia mayor. Si ya tiene asociada la cumbia al erotismo, el sistema nervioso hará el resto

 

 

Hay dos tipos de personas: los que necesitan banda sonora para dar rienda suelta a sus apetitos sexuales y los que prefieren el silencio para oír en Dolby Surround los sonidos y jadeos propios del apareamiento. De hecho, hay un tercer grupo: el de quienes ponen música alta para que los demás habitantes de la casa (o los sufridos vecinos) no oigan sus arrebatos pasionales. La envidia es muy mala, ya se sabe. Lo que dice la ciencia, según un estudio elaborado por el Instituto Max Planck de Ciencias Cognitivas, es que los primeros salen ganando, porque cierta música aumenta nuestra percepción del tacto.«Hemos observado que cuanto más sexy percibimos la música, más sexy percibimos el tacto que se administra simultáneamente», explica Tom Fritz, líder del equipo que ha realizado el estudio. Y su metodología es, cuando menos, sorprendente. Los participantes del experimento colocaron su antebrazo a través de una cortina mientras escuchaban distintas piezas musicales, que luego evaluaban en una escala que oscilaba entre «nada sexy» y «extremadamente sexy». Al mismo tiempo, un cepillo controlado automáticamente por un robot les acariciaba el brazo al otro lado de la cortina. La conclusión, tras evaluar las valoraciones de los sujetos, es que «la música parece cambiar nuestra percepción del tacto», dice Fritz, que habla del concepto de transferencia entre uno y otro. También probaron cambiando el brazo robótico por las caricias de una persona de carne y hueso, con conocimiento de los participantes.

El resultado fue el mismo. La explicación radica en la expresión emocional de los sonidos musicales individuales, que sigue la misma dinámica que la expresión emocional táctil. Como ejemplo contrario al del sexo, sitúa a la música agresiva o asincrónica, que genera en el cerebro sensaciones agresivas. «Estos resultados también ilustran», señala Fritz, «la relevancia evolutiva de la música como tecnología social». Al influir en nuestra interpretación del tacto y otros sentidos, las canciones que escuchamos dirigen nuestro comportamiento hacia las personas que nos rodean y, potencialmente, también pueden estar relacionadas con nuestra selección sexual y hábitos reproductivos.Una canción de Marvin Gaye ayuda a enviar mensajes (nada) subliminales y preparar el terreno. Y es que otra de las claves del papel de la música en el sexo es el condicionamiento.

 

Somos perros de Pavlov, lo queramos o no. Y tanto da si lo que nos pone es el trip-hop, la cumbia, el soul de vieja escuela o el techno duro. Si los tenemos asociados al erotismo, en nuestro cerebro se encenderá la luz que pone en marcha el sistema nervioso y mandará señales al resto del cuerpo, que reaccionará en consecuencia. Por otro lado, también hay evidencias de que escuchar música y practicar sexo se parecen más de lo que puede parecer. Laura Ferreri, profesora de Psicología Cognitiva de la Universidad de Lyon, ha conducido otro experimento revelador. Cuando escuchamos música que nos agrada, vienen a decir Ferreri y su equipo, nuestro cerebro segrega dopamina, la hormona del placer. De hecho, la parte de nuestro encéfalo que se conoce como cuerpo estriado reacciona de manera similar ante la música, la comida, las drogas y el sexo. Mucho tiene que ver con la anticipación y el sistema de recompensa del cerebro, esa sensación de saber qué parte de la letra o acorde viene a continuación. Si la canción es de esas que nos sabemos de memoria, el chute de dopamina es constante, lo que elimina el estrés y puede colaborar muy positivamente en el.

 

Otro estudio, patrocinado por Spotify y a cargo de Daniel Müllensiefen, doctor en psicología de la Universidad de Londres, señalaba que las mejores canciones para el sexo poseen cualidades vocales similares, como un rango amplio y dinámico, generalmente grave y con una cierta ronquera. Y como evidencia, la propia encuesta entre clientes de la plataforma de streaming, ofrecía unos datos un tanto desconcertantes: entre las canciones favoritas de los encuestados para darlo todo en la cama estaba el bolero de Ravel y hay quien siente la fuerza ante los compases de la banda sonora de Star Wars.
