Una vegada construït el bloc de nínxols que donaria per finalitzades les obres del cementeri, l’Ajuntament de Xeraco ha anunciat l’inici del procés d’ampliació del camp sant donada la necessitat de comptar amb una major capacitat.
D’aquesta manera, el primer edil, Avelino Mascarell, ha confirmat l’inici del procés amb un estudi hidrogeològic dels terrenys on s’ubica el projecte d’ampliació del cementeri. Una fase per a la qual s’ha comptat amb tècnics locals i que té com a objectiu començar amb aquesta nova millora tan demandada pels veïns i veïnes després de les diferents expropiacions de les parcel·les adjacents portades a terme.
En una següent fase, es posarà en marxa el projecte de construcció amb el suport dels tècnics que seran els encarregats de valorar la capacitat de l’espai per urbanitzar-ho per complet i deixar així els blocs marcats per a futures ampliacions.
Mascarell ha destacat que, amb aquest projecte, «pretenem atendre una necessitat del poble i, a més, donar facilitats als nostres veïns i veïnes que ho tenen complicat accedir a la quarta planta». És per això que des del consistori es construiran nínxols de tres altures i més moderns perquè siguen més accessibles.
