Valencia, 12 de mayo de 2017.- Tal como PACMA denunció cuando se hizo público el procedimiento, ninguna entidad de protección animal se ha podido presentar al concurso para la adjudicación del servicio de recogida de animales del Ayuntamiento de Valencia, al resultar imposible que pudieran cumplir los requisitos administrativos establecidos.
Sí lo ha hecho una perrera, con sede en Vinaroz, la misma que se encarga de la recogida y sacrificio de cientos de animales abandonados en numerosos pueblos de nuestra Comunidad.
“Por suerte para nuestros animales, la empresa no cumplía todos los requisitos de los pliegos de contratación, por lo que el concurso ha quedado desierto“, afirma Raquel Aguilar, coordinadora de PACMA en Valencia.
Desde el Partido Animalista, lamentan las condiciones administrativas del concurso, que han puesto en riesgo a los animales abandonados de la ciudad, además de la intransigencia del Ayuntamiento ante la petición de paralización y reformulación del procedimiento por parte de PACMA y de diversas entidades de protección animal, entre las que se encuentra la Plataforma Carles Pinazo, que aglutina a decenas de organizaciones.
“La situación de los animales abandonados en Valencia es dramática y el ayuntamiento debe asumir su responsabilidad y aplicar de forma urgente las medidas que permitan mejorar sus condiciones de vida y reducir el abandono” indica Aguilar. “Unas nuevas instalaciones, independientes para perros y para gatos, adaptadas a la realidad de las cifras actuales de abandono, en que se permita que las necesidades etológicas de los animales sean cubiertas, fomento de las adopciones y de la tenencia responsable de animales, planes de esterilización, así como perseguir el abandono, son las acciones urgentes que debería haber puesto ya en marcha el ayuntamiento, después de dos años al frente del consistorio, para paliar esta lacra” indican los animalistas.
Desde PACMA instan nuevamente al Ayuntamiento a que, una vez el concurso sea declarado desierto, se lleven a cabo los procedimientos necesarios que garanticen que sean las entidades de protección animal quienes se ocupen de garantizar el bienestar de los animales de la ciudad y no ninguna empresa que mercantilice su sufrimiento.
