Detenido el presidente de Oxfam Internacional por un caso de corrupción en Guatemala

Juan Alberto Fuentes, presidente de Oxfam Internacional desde 2015, ha sido detenido en Guatemala en una operación contra la corrupción

 

 

Fuentes Knight fue ministro de Finanzas en el país centroamericano y, tal y como informa el periódico guatemalteco Prensa Libre, es uno de los diez detenidos -entre ellos otros ministros y el expresidente Álvaro Colom- en una operación policial por el llamado caso Transurbano en la que se han registrado 14 domicilios.

 

 

El ahora detenido fue nombrado presidente de Oxfam Internacional en abril de 2015. En la nota de prensa del nombramiento el propio Fuentes se mostraba «entusiasmado» por tener «la oportunidad de contribuir a dar forma a los cambios que se van a producir en Oxfam con el objetivo de ser una fuerza global aún más innovador».

 

 

Este mismo lunes Fuentes Knight mostraba en su cuenta de Twitter su rechazo por «las abominables acciones de equipo de Oxfam en Haití en 2011» que calificaba de un «certero golpe» a la labor de «miles de buenas personas de Oxfam, con quienes me identifico». (Fuente: Libremercado.com)
