Gandia 2 d’abril de 2019.- La Secretària d’Estat per a l’Esport del Govern d’Espanya, María José Rienda, ha estat rebuda hui per l’alcaldessa de Gandia, Diana Morant; la vicealcaldessa Lorena Milvaques; la regidora d’Esports, Lydia Morant i representants de les forces polítiques representades al consistori gandià. Durant la seua visita, la Secretària d’Estat per a l’Esport ha signat en el Llibre d’Honor de Gandia i visitat les instal•lacions del poliesportiu municipal acompanyada per l’alcaldessa, la regidora d’Esports i tècnics municipals.
Diana Morant ha aprofitat la visita per a informar que la regidora d’Esports està treballant juntament amb els clubs esportius per posar en marxa un Pla Director Esportiu destinat a millorar els espais existents i que els clubs i associacions esportives de la ciutat puguen exercir d’amfitrions d’altres clubs per convertir a Gandia en seu de campionats Nacionals i Internacionals en totes les disciplines. «Som conscients que cal fer un pas qualitatiu i hui mateix visitarem les instal•lacions i mantindrem una reunió amb referents de l’esport local perquè la Secretària d’Estat per a l’Esport del Govern d’Espanya es porte una visió completa de la ciutat de Gandia i de la motivació de la ciutat per seguir apostant per l’esport».
El Pla Director d’Inversions Esportives abastarà un període de 5 a 6 anys i inclou la modernització del poliesportiu municipal a més d’altres inversions necessàries en instal•lacions esportives municipals repartides per la ciutat o generar nous espais per a la pràctica de l’esport.
Sobre la visita de Rienda, l’alcaldessa ha afirmat que «L’esport s’ha convertit en una moda transversal, ja que practiquen esport tots els grups d’edat» «L’esport és estratègic per a Gandia perquè ens permet treballar amb la igualtat, la salut i en qüestions econòmiques. Tots els clubs que programen esdeveniments i treballen amb els xiquets i xiquetes, mereixen unes instal•lacions esportives què possibiliten millorar la seua feina» va declarar Morant qui ha destacat que «l’esport també té rellevància en aspectes com el turisme per complementar el turisme de sol i platja i suposa una oportunitat. Ara que l’economia municipal ha millorat, volem augmentar l’aposta per l’esport».
Finalment, María José Rienda, va destacar la importància de conéixer les necessitats esportives locals i en l’àmbit de la comunitat per poder coordinar polítiques en l’àmbit estatal. «Hui visitarem les instal•lacions i coneixerem de primera mà les necessitats dels clubs per atendre, amb sensibilitat, tots els aspectes relacionats amb l’esport base. Els més menuts són fonamentals perquè les estructures esportives seguisquen creixent a tots els nivells». «És bàsic coordinar totes aquestes accions i vull destacar el fet que s’haja fet per primera vegada la Conferència Sectorial perquè les polítiques d’Estat arriben a les corporacions locals».
