Una vez finalizado el plazo para solicitar por parte de la militancia la celebración de primarias para elegir cabeza de lista de las próximas elecciones municipales, sin que ni un solo afiliado lo haya hecho efectivo, Diana Morant, actual alcadesa de Gandia y secretaria general de la Agrupación Local del PSPV-PSOE, ha formalizado su candidatura para revalidar el cargo. Por tanto, el PSPV-PSOE ya ha confirmado a Diana Morant como candidata a la alcaldía en los comicios locales de 2019.

El secretario de Organización de la Agrupación Socialista de Gandia, Adrià Vila, recogió el documento donde consta la declaración de voluntad de Diana Morant de volver a presentarse como como cabeza de lista del PSPV-PSOE en las elecciones municipales que se celebrarán el 26 de mayo de 2019, con el apoyo unánime y sin fisuras de todo el partido.
Morant ha afirmado que, a diferencia de otras formaciones que aún están elaborando su proyecto de futuro, “los socialistas estamos aquí, gobernando y preparados para seguir haciéndolo. Me presento a la reelección con el máximo respaldo de mi partido y la misma ilusión, fuerza, compromiso y ganas de trabajar por Gandia que cuando fui elegida alcaldesa, consciente que son muchos los retos que nos quedan por delante. Gandia ha mejorado y progresado en esta legislatura con un gobierno liderado por los socialistas”.
La candidata socialista ha indicado: “Hemos mejorado la situación de la ciudad. Veníamos de una etapa negra con la herencia de gobierno de mayoría absoluta del PP. Primero, tuvimos que recuperar la dignidad y la reputación moral, gestionando con responsabilidad”. También ha recalcado: “Los socialistas hemos demostrado que, con un gran equipo, hemos sido capaces de reducir la deuda municipal y transformar la ciudad recuperándola para las personas”.
En este sentido, Morant ha agregado: “Nos costará tres legislaturas arreglar todo el daño económico causado por los populares en una. Por ello, necesitamos más tiempo para seguir con nuestro proyecto”.
La candidata a la alcaldía de Gandia por el PSPV-PSOE ha destacado que “ahora se abre, con optimismo, la mejor etapa para los gandienses. Estamos generando confianza, por lo que Gandia ya es una ciudad de oportunidades”. Prueba de ello es que muchas empresas están invirtiendo en la ciudad y durante los próximos meses el Consell presidido por Ximo Puig hará un gran esfuerzo inversor con más de 50 millones de euros que se destinará a la mejora de centros educativos a través del Pla Edificant, el nuevo Palacio de Justicia o el Centro de Salud Integral ubicado en el barrio de Roís de Corella, entre otros muchos proyectos que ya están en marcha.
